Celtic Fest Breaks Out the Beards

Yo, kilts are an eco-friendly alternative to air conditioning.

Celebrate Celtic-style at this weekend's 16th annual Potomac Celtic Festival on the Historic Green at Moven Park (17263 Southern Planter Lane, Leesburg, Va.). Head over to the Barnaby Stage and embrace your inner Celt with live performances by artists like Scottish quartet Cantrip and American fiddle master Bruce Molsky.

You'll also find a dance stage, Celtic story-telling, a kids' tent and a workshop, where you can learn about Celtic jewelry design, fiddle styles, language and more. Stock up on Celtic gear while browsing an artisans' market of crafts, jewelry and more.

We're guessing you might not know that there are also Celtic sports out there in the world. This year, the festival planners are reintroducting athletics with demos of the Hammer, Caber, Sheef Toss and Stones. Those sound a little painful, but we're sure they know what they're doing.

Sat. 10 a.m.-7 pm.; Sun. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Adults $12 (one day); $20 (two days)
