A school security officer in Fairfax County, Virginia, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a student at a middle school earlier this month, police said Monday.

Fairfax County offered an extended school year for students impacted by virtual learning. But the county now says that it does not have enough teachers to bring students back for the four-week session. News4’s Drew Wilder reports.

Some students in Northern Virginia will head back to classrooms in October. Fairfax and Loudoun counties approved plans to start the process with a small percentage of students. News4’s Drew Wilder explains the plans.
