Ask Liz: Car Seats

What do the new car seat safety guidelines say, and are there any other tips for keeping kids safe in cars? The American Academy of Pediatrics helped us out with this answer.

A few other tips when shopping around for a car seat:

  • Remember that no one seat is the “best” or the “safest.”
  • Don’t decide on price alone. A higher price does not necessarily mean the seat is safer or easier to use.
  • A reminder, the American Academy of Pediatrics said all children should ride in the back seat of a car until they are 13 years old.
