How come you can still get calls from companies asking you to take polls and surveys even after you've signed up for the National Do Not Call list? The Federal Trade Commission gave us the answer.
It told us that registered phone numbers are only protected against telemarketing calls, which by definition are calls that solicit the sale of goods or services. That means a call placed for the sole reason of conducting a survey or poll would NOT be blocked by the Do Not Call registry.
The same goes for calls from political organizations and charities (not blocked by the Do Not Call registry). For more information, visit www.DoNotCall.gov.
