NBC4 Washington has announced that NBC Washington Nonstop, a unique round-the-clock local information and lifestyle channel, will launch on Wednesday, October 27 at 1 p.m.
This new platform will increase local content offered by NBC4, Washington’s #1 news station and #1 television website in the DC area. Shows and segments will focus on food, culture, entertainment and lifestyle content that have interest to those living in the Washington region.
In making the announcement, Jackie Bradford, President and General Manager of NBC4 Washington, said: “Our station has a rich history in the Washington area. This new platform will enhance the local news and information our viewers have come to expect from us and enable us to add so much more. Washingtonians live busy lives. Shows that run on Washington Nonstop will capture the unique character and characters our region has to offer. As the channel grows, we look forward to expanding our local content even more”
Programming for Washington Nonstop will feature a mix of special shows produced specifically for this channel along with expanded content from NBC4. New shows include The Rundown, a daily show focusing on local headlines of the day told in an informal, conversational style, Nonstop Foodies DC, which will celebrate local food, restaurants, chefs and cooking, and Nonstop Scene DC, which features the people, places and activities that make our region unique.
NBC4’s Daily Connection, a show featuring topical stories people are talking about, will also air on Washington Nonstop, nightly at 7:00 p.m. and during the morning block of programming. Morning viewers will also enjoy live news and weather updates throughout the morning. Additional shows and segments will be added over time.
Washington Nonstop will feature anchors and reporters from NBC in addition to contributors in fields including food and fashion.
Washington Nonstop is the third 24/7 channel supported by NBC Local Media division. New York Nonstop launched two years ago, and NBC Philadelphia Nonstop debuted on Monday.
Washington Nonstop is available on every major cable MSO in the market. The following details the preliminary channel positions:
