Shirtless Vandal Caught Thanks to Name Tattooed Across His Stomach

The key piece of evidence that led police to a man suspected of breaking the rear windows of three vehicles in Fredericksburg was his name.

Three people said a man threw rocks at their rear windshields, breaking them, at about 10:45 p.m. Sunday, police said.

A man fitting the victims' description of the vandal was picked up on foot a few blocks away. The dead giveaway was the fact that he wasn't wearing a shirt, and he had a large tattoo of his last name across his belly.

Daniel Beavers, 23, was charged with three counts of vandalism, possession of a schedule IV narcotic (a bottle of prescription pills was found in his pocket) and public intoxication. He was released on $2,500 bond.
