Circus Worker Airlifted After Camel Tramples, Bites Him at Charles County Fairgrounds

A circus worker in Maryland was airlifted to a trauma center Friday after he was trampled and bitten by a camel at the Charles County Fairgrounds, authorities said.

The 57-year-old man sustained a head injury shortly after 2:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds in La Plata, Maryland, said a Charles County Fire spokesman. The camel is part of an animal exhibit at the fairgrounds this weekend.

The victim's condition is unknown. He was airlifted to a medical center in Prince George's County.
