A Taiwanese gambler who lost $2 million in Las Vegas blames his rotten luck on feng shui mischief and is threatening to sue the casino.
The man, identified only by his last name, Yuan, attributes his losses to white towels, a black cloth and two fans that Venetian staff placed around his suite last April.
"We Chinese drape black and white cloths only when there is a death in the family. It is such a taboo for regular people, let alone for the gamblers," Yuan said according to Yahoo News.
He says staff placed the towels and fan in front of his Presidential suite without consulting him, and deliberately created and covered a hole in his wall with a black cloth.
Yuan claims he was up $400,000 before the hotel rearranged items leading to his financial plunge.
According to followers of Feng Shui, an ancient Chinese practice, arrangement of items in a room can have significant impact on energy and fortune.
The lawsuit threat came from Yuan's attorney who said that either the Venetian come up with some sort of solution or see them in court. The Venetian agreed to refund him $100,000 and another $100,000 in chips, though they didn't explain why.
