It’s not exactly what you’re hoping to see while on a jog. A runner called police Tuesday night after he he spotted a black bear in northwest Washington.
He was running along Beach Drive in Rock Creek Park at the time. He said the bear was just north of Military Road.
U.S. Park Police said they can't remember the last time someone called in a bear sighting in the District.
There are no active searches for the bear at this point, but officers have been told to keep an eye out.
