Ashburn Is America's Dirtiest-Minded City

Survey based on George Carlin's "Seven Dirty Words"

Who knew Ashburn and George Carlin’s Seven Dirty Words go together?

Out of the top 10 most obscene cities in the nation it appears the Virginia suburb takes the crown, as ranked by Business Insider Magazine.

The folks who did the survey used Google Trends and plugged in “the seven dirty words you can never say on television,” a routine made popular by the late comedian George Carlin.

As they scored each city for the naughtiest Web searchers, those living in Ashburn were found to have the dirtiest minds.

The town, situated in Loudoun County, takes the crown from last year’s winner, nearby Herndon.

Herndon once again this year made the top 10 list, coming in as No. 3 behind Tampa.

In 2008, the first year the survey was published, Louisville, Ky., was found to be the most obscene city in the U.S.

Surveyors say they got the idea from a lawyer in Pensacola, Fla., who unsuccessfully tried to enter online search records, also from Google Trends, as court evidence to show just how obscene those searching the Web are in that city.
