Vegas Expects More of the Same From 2009 Redskins

Over/under equals Skins 2008 total wins

WASHINGTON -- Demonstrating some bold prognosticating, Vegas Watch has predicted that the 2009 Washington Redskins will win just as many games as the 2008 Washington Redskins, Redskins Insider reported.

The over/under on Redskins wins is 8, up from 7.5 in May 2008, which the team bested by half a win (maybe this depressing victory over the Eagles or this close call against Cleveland).

So is 8 a safe bet? It seems ESPN's John Clayton would advise you to go for the over. His scientific analysis finds the Redskins with a favorable schedule. That and the fact that it's hard to average as few as 16.6 points per game have Clayton calling for a Redskins surprise this season.

Of course, if the Skins continue playing to the level of their opponents -- could Detroit end its losing streak when Danny's boys visit the Motor City in Week 3, or maybe worse, could Washington suffer another disappointing setback to St. Louis when the Rams come to town in Week 2? -- 8 sounds just right. Perfectly mediocre.
