Training for YouTube Fame

Michael Jackson spoof becomes YouTube sensation

That YouTube video you posted may not win an Oscar or get you to Hollywood, but it might land you a trip to Philadelphia. Just ask two athletic training majors from James Madison University.

Jared Miller and Pratik Banjade have been invited to show a video they made next month at the National Athletic Trainers’ Association’s national convention in the City of Brotherly Love. The four-minute video called “Athletic Trainer: Smooth Professional” spoofs Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal” and gives you a look inside the life of an athletic trainer. Check it out below:

Miller and Banjade spent 25 hours making it as a joke for their fellow students.

“We were doing it as a project to be funny around the JMU community,” Miller told the Free Lance-Star on Fredericksburg, Va. “We didn’t know it would go this far.”

How far has it gone? It’s been viewed more than 40,000 times in four days on YouTube.

It's nice to know these guys could have a decent career as filmmakers if this whole athletic trainer thing doesn't work out...
