Capitals Fans Rock the Red for Stanley Cup Playoffs

A scavenger hunt and rally kick off the week

Fans joined the excitement for the Washington Capitals playoffs with a scavenger hunt today and a rally later this week.

Winners of the scavenger hunt won two tickets to the first playoff home game.

Individual letters that spell out "Capitals" were hidden all over the D.C. area. as part of the hunt. It started at 9 a.m. and continued until 4 p.m. with clues released every hour through the team's Twitter account, @WashCaps.

Then, on April 13, fans are invited to the "rock the red" rally at Carenegie Library across from the Convention Center. Guests include Mayor Muriel Bowser, Capitals owner Ted Leonsis and retired players Rod Langway and Alan May.

Attendants can expect food trucks, giveaways and music at the rally.

The Capitals face the Philadelphia Flyers for Game 1 in the first-round of playoffs on April 14 at the Verizon Center.
