When the University of Maryland football team takes on Notre Dame for only the second time in history, it will be in a super-sized venue.
The game will be played at the home of the Washington Redskins -- FedEx Field. It will be the first time the Terps have played at FedEx Field.
The game is set for Nov. 12, 2011, and is expected to be broadcast nationally on NBC. Though it is in the Terps' neighborhood, it will be considered a home game for Notre Dame -- its neighborhood being wherever Catholic football fans live.
βThis is great for our program and our profile,β said Maryland coach Ralph Friedgen.
The only other time the Terps took on the Fighting Irish they were shut out 22-0 at Giants Stadium in New Jersey in 2002.
