StubHub's Virtual View Offers 360-Degree Preview of Seats

What to Know

  • StubHub's virtual view allows buyers to see a 360-degree preview of their seats.
  • Virtual view is available for seats purchased at select MLB games and concerts throughout the country, including Nationals Park in D.C.

Online ticket marketplace StubHub is using the advancing technology of virtual reality to give fans a better idea of the seats they select at stadiums.

The new feature gives fans a preemptive 360-degree view from their seat. Customers will be able to use their phone or VR goggles to preview their seat.

StubHub calls this feature “virtual view.”

After almost a year in development, the feature first launched a month ago in San Francisco -- where StubHub is based. Now virtual view is available for seats purchased at select Major League Baseball games and concerts throughout the country, including at Nationals Park in D.C.

Virtual view is one of the first practical uses of virtual reality, StubHub spokesperson Cameron Papp said.

“Every stadium and venue is different,” Papp said. “Virtual view better informs customers.”
