Second Leg Between D.C. United, New York Red Bulls Postponed Due to Nor'easter

Due to the nor'easter bearing down on the Tri-State Area, the second leg of the MLS Eastern Conference Semifinal between D.C. United and the New York Red Bulls was postponed Wednesday. The match will now take place Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Heavy snowfall rendered the playing field at Red Bull Arena unplayable. Stadium workers attempted to clear the pitch but could not do so satisfactorily. While New York head coach Hans Backe was adamant that the match should be called off, United coach Ben Olsen was prepared to play. Yet, unfortunately for Olsen, United and 700 supporters who made the trip from Washington, the game was ultimately rescheduled.
