What an age we live in that writing about an athlete joining Twitter is worth writing about at all. That was the hand our generation was dealt.
That being said, welcome Baylor/probable future Redskin quarterback Robert Griffin III to Twitter.
Griffin brought his bright future and even brighter socks to the masses with an incredibly formal introduction:
Well... My name is Robert Griffin III and yes I have finally joined the renowned phenomenon known as Twitter — Robert Griffin III (@RGIII) April 3, 2012
Griffin then went on to show his support for the Baylor women's basketball team, who will contend for the national championship Tuesday against Notre Dame.
While we look forward to the possibility of inspirational, yet hip words of encouragement before every Redskins game, what I hope for is the start of a one-sided Twitter war with Jim Irsay.
Godspeed, RG3 (which he couldn't use because it was already taken. Thanks "Richard Green III" of central New Jersey).
