Kristi Castlin started competing in Track and Field when she was 14.

Castlin won the 60m hurdles at the USA Indoor Track and Field Championships in 2012 and participated in the Indoor World Championship in 2012.

The U.S. Embassy of Guyana selected the former Virginia Tech student-athlete as the U.S. ambassador of sport.

Castlin beat world indoor champion Nia Ali in the 100m hurdles by .05 seconds to finish second and qualify for her first Olympics.
