Report: Nationals Sign Pitcher Dan Haren To One-Year Deal

The hot stove is scalding as Major League Baseball's Winter Meetings are underway in Nashville, and it seems like the Washington Nationals have made their first move.

The Nats have reportedly come to terms with starting pitcher Dan Haren on a one-year, $13 million contract pending a physical, according to Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal.

The right-handed Haren has spent the last two-plus seasons with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, compiling a record of 33-27. Haren's best years, however, came from 2007-2009 while with the Oakland Athletics and Arizona Diamondbacks; he earned All-Star nominations in all three seasons.

Haren adds yet another strong arm to an already-strong starting rotation that includes Stephen Strasburg, Gio Gonzalez, Jordan Zimmermann and Ross Detwiler.
