We're two days away from the big 'ole gathering at Bailey's Pub and Grille in the Ballston Mall for the NHL Awards show from Las Vegas. Your hockey blogging buddies from Puck Daddy (Yahoo! Sports) and Japers' Rink (SB Nation) are having a viewing party on Thursday, June 18, beginning at 6 p.m. EST.
And wouldn't you know it: We have stuff to give away.
Being a DC area party, we've procured Washington Capitals swag for some lucky puckheads in attendance: One XL Caps jersey, one Caps hat, one Alex Ovechkin bobblehead (hey now) and one autographed Bruce Boudreau bobblehead (head thankfully not to scale). We're thinking random drawing or completely arbitrary methodology depending on our mood. One of the two.
Also, we've been getting word all week that there may be some television coverage of this event locally. So show up and drink act accordingly.
Once more, with feeling: Bailey's is located at 4233 Wilson Blvd. in Arlington (703-465-1300). There's plenty of garage parking, and it's within walking distance of the Ballston-MU (Orange Line) Metro. We're bloggers in a bar: It's not going to be a black tie affair.
We'll start getting in the spirit of things at 6 p.m., which is the tail end of happy hour; Bailey's has 24 oz. brews for $4 all night. There's a menu of bar chow and restaurant food as well. Eat, drink, be merry ... if nothing else, it's a chance to celebrate a fantastic NHL season with likeminded puckheads from the DC area.
