O's Prospect Calls Out Harper Over Kiss

Dylan Bundy, the Orioles 2011 first-round draft pick, is supposed to have Stephen Strasburg-like stuff on the mound.  But he's already rubbing Nats' fans the wrong way off of it.

Bundy made some controversial comments the other day on Bryce Harper's controversial blown kiss after a homer on Monday.

"If I was pitching the next game, I'd hit him all four at-bats," Bundy said about Harper's already-infamous kiss on 105.7 The Fan.

Dylan is 18 years old and has yet to play in a professional game. His older brother Bobby pitches for the Orioles at Single-A Frederick.  He backed up younger brother Dylan's comment.

"Same thing," Bobby said on The Fan. "The kid can't do that. You know, that was a little over the top."

The kiss, which was supposedly retaliation for a kiss blown earlier in the game by Greensboro Grasshopper's pitcher Zachary Neal, has everyone talking about the Nats' top prospect.

There has always been trash talking in baseball, and there always will be. Unfortunately for Harper, his every move is under the microscope, and he may not be able to get away with that kind of behavior anymore because it may get taken out of context.

As a result, we end up with players, coaches and everyone else in baseball analyzing 18-year-olds acting like, well...18-year-olds!

Yes, Harper may need an attitude adjustment, but cut the guy a break. He's only batting .342 with 14 home runs, 43 RBIs and 40 runs in 57 games at Low-A Hagerstown.

If he hasn't earned the right to be a little cocky, then who has?

Update: The rivalry has taken to Twitter.

Bryan Harper (@BHarp45) offered the Bundys a few words of advice in a tweet this afternoon:

Even Bryce Harper's mustache (@BHarpersStache) and Jayson Werth's beard (@JWerthsBeard) have gotten their opinions in:

We may be witnessing the beginning of the Beltway Rivalry...
