Here lie Nick Young and JaVale McGee.
Well, not here, technically, because they were both traded before the NBA's trade deadline Thursday. McGee now rests, err, resides in Denver as the newest member of the Nuggets, while Young has returned to where his life began -- Los Angeles -- to join the Clippers, but you get the point.
While the child-like spirits and attitudes of Nick and JaVale are no longer with us in Washington, D.C., floating high above like a Young layup attempt over the backboard, they will always remain in our hearts and worldwide on YouTube.
From McGee's ill-fated attempt to run back on defense to Young's love of "Twilight" and hot dogs, they never ceased to entertain us, even if it came at the cost of several losses (the Wizards lost 210 of 287 games with McGee and Young on the roster).
McGee was unique. He was a 7-foot, 252-pound genetic freak with a wingspan the length of Yao Ming, but could never realize his full potential here, instead creating alter egos and selfishly attempting to earn triple-doubles. Washington's final memory will be of McGee taking a John Wall pass to the face before finishing the play with a slam dunk. We all are that play today; we were blindsided, but in the end, something positive came as of a result. Our thoughts go out to McGee's loving and protective mother, Pamela, who has surely already proclaimed her son as the future in the Mile High sky.
While Young may have been overshadowed by McGee's antics, he was the same kind of player: one that possessed raw talent that could never be properly molded. Hopefully, he will find rebirth in his birthplace, where the rejuvenated Clippers are breathing life once again.
We will miss Nick and JaVale, primarily for the "wicked pixels" that sustained us scribes. In their place come Nene and Brian Cook, but Nick and JaVale will never truly be replaced.

Fortunately, Andray Blatche will be the vessel of their spirits, throwing up contested out-of-range jumpers in rememberance of his fallen brethren.
Amen.
