The Washington Wizards have signed former University of Virginia center Jay Huff to an Exhibit 10 contract, the team announced on Tuesday.

Huff was among four players Washington signed to Exhibit 10 deals, along with center Jaime Echenique, guard Jordan Goodwin and wing Jordan Schakel.

Huff was a member of the Virginia Cavaliers basketball program for four years, completing his senior season this past spring. After spending his first two years in the program as a reserve, Huff got his first chance to start in the 2019-20 season. As a senior this past season, Huff averaged 14.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game while shooting an impressive 39% free three-point range.

After a pair of years at junior college, Echenique transferred to Wichita State ahead of the 2018-19 season and started 58 games for the Shockers over two seasons. His best campaign came in 2019-20, when he averaged 11.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. He most recently played for Gipuzkoa in the Spanish ACB league.

After finishing his collegiate two consecutive with two first-team All-Atlantic 10 selections, Goodwin entered the 2021 NBA Draft. He went undrafted but had reportedly agreed to a deal with Washington shortly after. The 6-foot-3 guard was also named to the conference's All-Defense team the past two years. As a senior, Goodwin averaged 14.5 points and 10.1 rebounds per game, an impressive number for a player his size.

Schakel, a four-year player at San Diego State, also went undrafted this past July. As a senior, the 6-foot-6 wing averaged 14.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. Schakel was a member of the Kings Summer League team, a squad that won it all this past August.

All four players are on Exhibit 10 contracts, which in layman's terms pretty much means an invite to training camp. The Wizards can convert each contract into a two-way deal before the season, should they choose to.
