The Wizards and Mystics have opened both their home arena and practice facility up for voting and the lines on the first day suggest it was a good idea.

The facility, located at St. Elizabeth's in Ward 8, is where the Wizards practice and where the Mystics and Capital City Go-Go play their games. It was opened in the fall of 2018.

Wizards guard Bradley Beal and Mystics guard Natasha Cloud have helped lead an effort by both of their teams to encourage people to vote. The teams have held voter registration efforts and used their platform to raise awareness for social justice issues.

Last month, Beal spoke at Capital One Arena about the importance of voting and how he plans to participate for the first time this November.
