Who is Beth Wilkinson? Get to know the attorney who’s looking into Washington’s culture

In a normal offseason, training camp would be nearing and Washington football fans would be busy familiarizing themselves with the names of undrafted free agents that most excited them.

Instead of honing in on a small school receiver or a feisty cornerback they like, however, supporters of the team are now concerned with the name and background of someone else entirely: Beth Wilkinson.

Wilkinson is the D.C. attorney that the organization reportedly hired to "conduct a deep dive" into its culture. That culture is expected to be at the center of a potentially explosive news story that could be dropping soon, with most rumors indicating the Washington Post will be behind that story.

So, who is Beth Wilkinson?

According to her firm's website, the 57-year-old has been "lead counsel in over 50 jury trials" and "has developed an unrivaled record of victories in both federal and state courts throughout the country."

Wilkinson has been involved in some enormous cases across her almost 30-year career, including serving as prosecutor against Timothy McVeigh, the man responsible for the 1995 Oklahoma City bombings. Wilkinson was also hired by Brett Kavanaugh to act as his defense when he was accused of sexual assault in 2018.

The Princeton University and University of Virginia Law School graduate has compiled numerous awards for her work. Now, she could soon be tasked with defending Washington's NFL team, which is apparently "highly upset" and "frustrated" by the building speculation about its culture.
