Watch Philip Rivers Make Woeful Attempt to Tackle Chuck Clark

Watch Philip Rivers make woeful attempt to tackle Chuck Clark originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

There are only two starting quarterbacks older than Philip Rivers in the NFL. Late in the first quarter against the Ravens on Sunday, Rivers' age was on full display as he tried to prevent a Ravens' defensive touchdown as safety Chuck Clark sprinted towards him.

Rivers fell running backward before Clark hurdled him. As the Ravens safety was clearing the veteran QB, though, Rivers' half-hearted attempt flailing his arms in the air. Pure gold.

Analysts like Warren Sharp and Field Yates especially enjoyed the tackling attempt.

Of course, the only starting QBs in the NFL older than Rivers have had their own troubles while trying to prevent a defensive touchdown. Tom Brady has had his fair share of poor tackling attempts while Drew Brees once injured his thumb when trying to make a tackle.

The Terps were quick to recall their epic 2003 victory over Rivers and NC State, while also backing up their fellow Marylanders in Baltimore.

Even the channel broadcasting the game had fun with the play at Rivers' expense.
