Washington Football Team safety Deshazor Everett has been placed on Injured Reserve and will miss the remainder of the 2020 season, the team announced on Thursday.

"Yeah, will miss him," defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio said. "He did a nice job for us this year. I feel bad for him."

Since being placed in the starting lineup in Week 6 in place of Troy Apke, Everett had brought a tone-setting, physical nature to Washington's defense.

In 11 games, Everett has notched 31 tackles (23 solo) and four passes defended. Before becoming a starter, Everett had been a core special teamer for Washington and was voted a special teams captain multiple seasons.

With Everett out, Washington will either turn back to Apke or insert Jeremy Reaves into the starting lineup. Neither Del Rio nor head coach Ron Rivera would say who would be the starter on Thursday to pair with rookie Kamren Curl.

"The guys that get the opportunity to go in, we expect them to play well," Del Rio said. "Right now, we're preparing for the Seahawks and the challenges they bring."
