Washington Alliance a New Option for the Washington Football Team Rebrand

New name suggestion appears on Washington Football Team website originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

As the search continues for a permanent team name, the Washington Football Team has invited fans to participate in the process and offer up their suggestions. Names like Redwolves and Redtails have been popular choices, but a new name has appeared on the team’s name-specific website: the Washington Alliance.

Created by Dan Blessing, the name plays off the idea that Washington, D.C. became the capital of an “alliance” after gaining independence from Britain. The logo plays heavily on famous district monuments and the Washington, D.C. flag while keeping the familiar burgundy and gold color scheme.

The team recently featured “Alliance” as one of the options on a poll of favorite fan submissions so far, alongside “Redtails,” “Seals” and “Wolves,” and it currently has the 3rd most votes (“Wolves” is currently the runaway leader).
