Terry McLaurin's Touchdown Dance in Carolina Was a Nod to Chase Young

Terry McLaurin's TD dance in Carolina was a nod to Chase Young originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

While the Cam Newton sprint-to-the-midfield-logo-and-spike-the-ball sequence in Sunday's Washington-Carolina game generated a ton of reaction, there's another celebration from the contest that's worth further talking about.

After securing a 12-yard touchdown grab from Taylor Heinicke, Terry McLaurin got up and did a dance in the back of the end zone at Bank of America Stadium. Some on Twitter then hypothesized that McLaurin was showing love to his Washington and Ohio State teammate, Chase Young, following the score.

On Monday, the receiver confirmed to NBC Sports Washington that was in fact the purpose of his move.

"It was," McLaurin said. "He used to do that dance in college in front of the team all the time."

Here's footage of Young from his Buckeye days doing exactly that:

Washington's battle with Carolina was the squad's first appearance since Young tore his ACL against the Buccaneers in Week 10. Clearly, McLaurin wanted the defensive end to know that he's still got Young's back, as evidenced by the celebration and this postgame tweet, too:

Consider this the latest example of why rooting for McLaurin is one of the best parts of supporting the Burgundy and Gold.
