Tampa Bay Offers Suite With Stanley Cup for a Good Cause

Got $5,000 to spare? Spend a night with the Stanley Cup originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Perhaps the most famous trophy in all of sports, the Stanley Cup is historic not just in its size and notoriety, but for the fact that the winners get to use the hardware for whatever they please. Now, it’s being used for a good cause.

The defending Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning announced that for $5,000, one lucky fan will be able to take five friends along for a memorable evening with Lord Stanley on Apr. 24 via Airbnb. Tampa’s home stadium, Amalie Arena, will turn one of its luxury suites into an exclusive one-night stay with perks including: a five-course meal, a personalized stall in the Lightning’s locker room, a movie screening on the arena’s jumbotron and a private skate time, among others.

The $5,000 proceeds from the event will benefit both the team's Lightning Foundation and the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay. The night of the stay, Apr. 24, is an off day for the team, so the guests of the suite will have Amalie Arena all to themselves.
