SEE IT: Davis Bertans Does His Best Tracy McGrady Impression on Self Alley-Oop

SEE IT: Bertans does his best T-Mac impression on self alley-oop originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Some of the most spectacular plays in basketball happen in the final moments before the clock ticks down. In those moments, the only rule is innovate.

Davis Bertans found himself in that situation in the first quarter of the Wizards' meeting with the Timberwolves. With just a few seconds left on the shot clock, Bertans was guarded tight at the three-point line and was forced to pick up his dribble. What he did next reminded us of vintage Tracy McGrady ... kind of.

With defenders in his face, the Latvian sharpshooter launched the ball toward the rim and appeared to miss it intentionally. As soon as it left his hand he took off toward the basket, rose up to grab the ball off of the rim and slammed it home with authority for his first points of the night.

It's doubtful that McGrady's highlights were a part of Scott Brooks' film session heading into this game, but Bertans is clearly a student of T-Mac's game.

The Wizards went into halftime leading the Timberwolves 54-52. Watching that Bertans dunk again might not be a bad idea. It certainly has us hyped to see what else the big man can pull off in the second half.
