Reports: Trevor Lawrence to Miss Second Straight Game Vs. Notre Dame

Reports: Trevor Lawrence to miss 2nd straight game vs. Notre Dame originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Trevor Lawrence will miss his second consecutive game next Saturday against Notre Dame, multiple reports have confirmed.

Lawrence has a positive coronavirus test come back on Thursday and was subsequently ruled out of Clemson's contest with Boston College.

One issue concerning Lawerence's availability, on top of if he was affected by the virus, was the ACC's 10-day rule. Players who display symptoms for the virus must isolate themselves from the team for at least 10 days. Saturday's contest against Notre Dame is nine days after when the test was revealed. He could have developed symptoms before then.

Luckily for Dabo Sweeney's Tigers, backup quarterback DJ Uiagalelei didn't miss a beat filling in for the presumptive No. 1 pick in the 2021 NFL draft. Uiagalelei threw for 342 yards and two touchdowns, completing 30-of-41 passes in Clemson's 34-28 win against the Eagles.

While Lawrence wasn't able to take part in the action, it was evident he was happy to see his team do well without him.
