Report: Washington ‘unlikely' to Lift Stadium Ban Amid Gov. Hogan's Order

Report: Washington 'unlikely' to lift stadium ban originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Friday, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announced that both the Washington Football Team and the Baltimore Ravens are allowed to bring fans back in their home stadiums.

The outdoor sporting venue limit will now be limited to 10 percent of the stadium's total capacity, if they choose to utilize it, however a recent report from the Washington Post's Nicki Jhabvala suggests that Washington will continue to play games without fans.

"The Washington Football Team is “evaluating” the possibility of allowing a limited number of fans at FedEx Field in the wake of Gov. Larry Hogan’s new order, but it is unlikely to lift its ban at this point, according to a person with knowledge of the situation," Jhabvala said.

Earlier in August, the team announced that there would be no fans attending Washington's games this season. Granted, this was while there was still a ban on patrons at sporting events in Maryland.

Hogan's announcement is a step forward in getting fans back in Landover, Md, however, there still is more needed to be done by the team.
