Report: NBA Allowing Teams to Open Practice Facilities for Offseason Workouts

Report: NBA allowing teams to open practice facilities for workouts originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

With the 2019-20 NBA season wrapping up a little under three weeks ago, it appears teams will be able to start conducting offseason workouts soon.

According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, the NBA is allowing all 30 teams to open their practice facilities to hold team practices, workouts and scrimmages for up to 10 people.

For players to participate in such workouts, they must be tested for coronavirus every day and return a negative test each time, per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski

The 2020 NBA Draft is set for November 18, though an official date for free agency hasn't been announced. With recent reports suggesting the 2020-21 season could start as early as around Christmas, there would be a relatively quick turnaround from the end of the Finals to the beginning of the regular season.

Opening up practice facilities would at least grant teams the opporunity to get back in the gym together and prepare, especially for those who were either excluded from the NBA bubble or were knocked out of the playoffs early.
