A new MLB internal investigation into the Marlins' coronavirus outbreak has found some lapses in following league protocols, according to Bleacher Report's Scott Miller.

The Marlins have had 20 total coaches and players test positive for the virus since Opening Day, with two new cases reported on Friday. Miller said players were lax in following league protocols by going to hotel bars and going out.
Reports of MLB's investigation comes three days after USA TODAY Sports columnist Bob Nightengale said a few of the players went out while visiting Atlanta for two exhibition games.

However the club's coronavirus complications came about, the ramifications are widespread. After "a vast majority" of Nationals players voted against traveling to Miami for this weekend series, all Marlins games through Sunday were postponed. The Marlins were also scheduled to play a series against Baltimore earlier this week, which was also postponed.
As a result, the Nationals have the weekend off and the Marlins' season was put on pause. The Marlins' decision to play this past Sunday's game against the Phillies despite four players receiving positive test results started all this. Now, the Phillies' upcoming home-and-away series against the Yankees as well as their home series against Toronto were also postponed after two of their staff members tested positive.

Without a bubble to ensure the whereabouts of all the season's participants, the MLB is increasingly reliant on compliance from its players. Thanks to the Marlins supposed protocol lapses, though, the season-ending prematurely is in more jeopardy than ever before.
