Report: Julio Jones Did Not Know He Was on TV for ‘I'm Outta There' Comment

Report: Julio didn't know he was on TV for 'I'm outta there' comment originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Former Falcons star wide receiver Julio Jones first made his desire to be traded public on Fox Sports 1's The Undisputed a couple of weeks ago when co-host Shannon Sharpe cold-called him in the middle of a debate to ask him about his future with Atlanta.

"I'm outta there," Jones responded.

The clip immediately made the rounds on social media, with many wondering whether the 32-year-old receiver knew if he was on live television or not when he made that comment. Sharpe did not tell Jones they were live on air until later in the segment.

Well, according to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, Jones "had no clue" that he was on live TV.

"I have it on good authority that Jones had no clue that he was on national TV when he said to FS1’s Shannon Sharpe, “I’m outta there” two weeks ago, which led to his trade request becoming public," Breer wrote in his weekly MMQB column.

Jones' trade request had been made to the Falcons weeks before his comment, per Breer, and the Falcons honored the wideout's request to keep his trade request private.

Jones ultimately got his wish, as he was traded from Atlanta to Tennessee on Sunday in exchange for a 2022 second-round pick and a 2023 fourth-round pick. The Falcons also sent a 2023 sixth-rounder in the deal.
