One of the top free agents for 2021 is now off the market.

The Toronto Blue Jays have reportedly signed outfielder George Springer to a six-year, $150 million deal, MLB Network's Jon Heyman first reported.

Springer, 31, has established himself as one of the top centerfielders in the game of baseball. Drafted by the Astros 11th overall in 2011, Springer debuted in the majors in 2014. In his seven professional seasons, the right-handed hitter has blossomed into one of the more dangerous bats in the game.

The outfielder was an All-Star from 2017 to 2019 and was the World Series MVP in 2017 when the Astros took home the trophy. In the shortened 2020 season, Springer hit a solid .265 with 14 home runs and 32 RBI to culminate in a 2.2 WAR.

A rare mix of speed, power and contact, Springer has established himself as a top leadoff option for any lineup. One mistake, and the game could easily start 1-0.

Viewed as one of the top options on the free-agent market this offseason, Springer was a name that many felt would be a perfect fit for the Washington Nationals as the team searched for an impact bat. Now, the 2019 World Series champions will look elsewhere if additional production is still wanted.

Springer will head up north to the AL East, meaning the Baltimore Orioles will see plenty of him in the coming years. The Blue Jays already possess a great deal of young talent in their lineup, with Bo Bichette, Cavan Biggio and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. acting as the headliners.

With Springer joining the mix, that starting nine only gets more dangerous and will be quite fun to watch in 2021 and beyond.
