Report: Another Ravens Player Tests Positive for COVID-19

Report: Another Ravens player tests positive for COVID-19 originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

The Ravens had more positive tests come back on Sunday, according to multiple reports. It was first reported by Pro Football Talk. 

 

According to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic, at least one of them was from another starter, which would bring the total to at least 23 total players and 21 since last Sunday. The Ravens have now had positive tests in the organization for eight consecutive days. 

Per the original Pro Football Talk report, multiple positive tests were detected via PCR testing early Sunday morning. 

As of Sunday morning, the Ravens’ COVID list is as follows, sorted by position (with Matthew Judon and Mark Andrews, which was reported earlier in the day, on the list): QB Lamar Jackson, QB Trace McSorley, RB Mark Ingram, RB J.K. Dobbins, FB Patrick Ricard, TE Mark Andrews, OL Patrick Mekari, OL Matt Skura, OL Will Holden, OL D.J. Fluker, DE Calais Campbell, DE Jihad Ward, DE Broderick Washington, DT Justin Madubuike, DT Brandon Williams, OLB Pernell McPhee, OLB Jaylon Ferguson, OLB Matthew Judon, CB Iman Marshall (IR), CB Tavon Young (IR), CB Khalil Dorsey (IR), and LS Morgan Cox.

Ravens-Steelers is still scheduled for Tuesday at 8:00 pm but is now further slipping into doubt. The league is determined to play the twice-postponed game, but the Ravens are still returning positive tests and, presumably, they wouldn’t play Tuesday as long as positive tests are still happening. Reportedly, the plan was that the team would travel to Pittsburgh on Tuesday via two planes, but for now, that’s still unknown. 

If the latest test returns even just one positive test for a player, they will be down to 49 players on the roster (including the practice squad) with two players on the exempt list. There is the possibility that players listed as close contacts that are on the COVID-19 list can return for Tuesday as long as they wait the mandatory five-day period with negative tests throughout.
