Ravens' inactive stars tweet praise of team against Steelers originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
It was no secret going into Wednesday afternoon's game against the Steelers that the Ravens were utterly depleted. For most of last week, half of the team's starters were on the reserve/COVID-19 list, including half a dozen Pro Bowl players.
Despite their talent disadvantage, the Ravens played the undefeated Steelers to a one-score game, falling 19-14.
Plenty of familiar faces were forced to sit out Wednesday's game, including Lamar Jackson, Willie Snead and Ronnie Stanley. Unable to be in Pittsburgh, those three team leaders took to Twitter to support their teammates.
Lamar Jackson
Jackson mostly just quote-tweeted Snead, sharing in the joy after both Ravens touchdowns. The first one was pure excitement, but in the second he shouted out Marquise "Hollywood" Brown for his electric 70-yard touchdown, in addition to the third-string QB who got Brown the ball.
Ronnie Stanley
Stanley is getting used to tweeting during games, as he's out with a season-ending injury rather than any coronavirus-related issues. He spent his afternoon giving props to the Ravens' defense, specifically calling out All-Pro cornerback Marlon Humphrey.
Willie Snead
Despite his role as an offensive player, Snead also spent most of the game shouting out the incredible performance by Baltimore's defense.
He also lamented having to miss the game, complaining that he may not be able to miss another. And of course, he's proud of his teammates for their effort in the loss.
