Huerter Huncho!

Atlanta Hawks guard and University of Maryland alum Kevin Huerter set the basketball world ablaze Sunday night, much to the dismay of Philadelphia 76ers fans. Huerter was the most dominant Hawk on the floor, pouring in a team-high 27 points to go along with seven rebounds and three assists. He led his squad to a decisive 103-96 victory in Philadelphia in Game 7, en route to an Eastern Conference Finals matchup with Milwaukee.

If you’ve been able to watch any Hawks games recently and are attuned to pop culture, you may notice that several major Atlanta-native celebrities line the court to see their team up close. One of those celebrities is rapper Quavo, who comprises one-third of hip-hop group Migos.

Quavo goes to dozens of Hawks games every season, but this one was surely one of the most special. After the buzzer, Huerter gave the rapper (who also goes by ‘Huncho’ and released a solo album titled Quavo Huncho in 2018) his game-worn jersey, sweat and all.

Quavo joined the Hawks in the locker room postgame to celebrate a hard-fought Game 7 win. The celebrations included an ice water dump onto Huerter for his performance. Plus, Quavo even rapped part of Migos’ new hit song ‘Straightenin’ off their new album Culture III.

One can only dream of how good the vibes were in that locker room. A Game 7 win away from home, a former Maryland Terrapin dominating on the court, and a live performance from Quavo? Sign us up.
