Orioles Twitter Trolls Nationals With ‘went 1-0 Today' Victory Tweet

Friday night was an all-around great evening for Orioles fans.

Baltimore blanked the Nationals, 11-0, Friday evening, as the Orioles pitching staff held the Washington lineup to just four hits.

After Baltimore recorded the 27th and final out, the Orioles' official Twitter account had the perfect tweet to celebrate the victory.

"Went 1-0 today," it read.

In this instance, the Orioles are mocking Washington manager Davey Martinez, who repeated the phrase throughout the Nationals' World Series title run last fall.

Well, Martinez and co. have the last laugh, as Washington has beautiful World Series rings to look at when they return home, even after a disappointing outing like Friday.

The Nationals account took that angle for their postgame tweet, sending out a post of the final score with a video attached of color commentator F.P. Santangelo saying, "These are the days you grab your World Series ring, you look at it and it makes you smile."

In Baltimore, the Orioles haven't had much to celebrate since the turn of the 21st century, with just three playoff appearances over that span.
