NFL With Zero Positive COVID-19 Test Results for 2nd Straight Week

NFL with zero positive COVID-19 test results for 2nd week originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

While there are plenty of secondary issues facing the NFL in 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the most immediate concern is also the most obvious: positive tests taking players out of games.

Thankfully, two weeks into the season, the NFL is still awaiting its first in-season positive test.

While there were a number of positive tests early in training camp, this is the second straight week in which all Saturday morning tests of players came back negative.

Even an ominous, illness-related scratch Sunday morning ended up not being related to the novel coronavirus.

For a sport in which many fans wondered how a coronavirus-affected season would look, this is fantastic news.

Of course, it's not just the players who play an important role and are at risk during the season.

Thankfully, Adam Schefter notes Al Riveron is back at his job after missing Week 1.

The NFL isn't out of the woods yet, as the league still needs to hold on for a few more months in order to complete its full, scheduled season. But for now, this is as strong a start as fans and the league could have hoped for.
