The Nationals have agreed to deals with OF Juan Soto, SS Trea Turner and 1B Josh Bell for the 2021 season, avoiding arbitration with their three remaining eligible players ahead of Friday's 1 p.m. deadline.

Turner's deal is worth $13 million, according to the Washington Post's Jesse Dougherty, while Soto will make $8.5 million. The salary for Bell, who the team acquired from the Pirates last month, has not yet been reported.

The team previously came to a $1.5 million agreement to avoid arbitration with pitcher Joe Ross.

Soto was arbitration-eligible for the first time this year after being designated as a “Super 2” player because of the amount of service time he’s accrued in his short major-league career. The Nationals still have four years of team control left before he’s able to hit free agency.

Turner and Bell were second-year arbitration-eligible after agreeing to $7.45 million and $4.8 million salaries, respectively, for 2020 before the pandemic hit.
