Nationals bring back fan favorite Gerardo Parra originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
It's Baby Shark time.
The Nationals made a move on Sunday to option infielder Luis Garcia to Triple-A and call up outfielder Gerardo Parra.

Normally, the promotion of a 34-year old journeyman outfielder wouldn't make headlines, but Parra has a notable history in the nation's capital. The veteran leader played a key role during the Nationals' 2019 World Series run, helping spark their midseason turnaround and continuing to pick up big hit after big hit throughout the year.
Parra spent the 2020 season in Japan, but in 2019 he batted .250 with eight home runs and 42 RBI in 89 games for the Nats. According to the team, he also hit .373 with runners in scoring position and led baseball with a .433 (13-for-30) average with two outs and runners in scoring position.
Through it all, Parra delighted fans with his choice of "Baby Shark" for his walk-up song, and the popular song became the rallying cry for the team and fans in Washington.
Now, he returns to a Nationals club that is once again struggling midway through the season. Fans are sure to be hoping things turn around with the team's good luck charm back in the fold.
