Brady House’s professional career is off to a fast start.
The No. 11 overall pick of the 2021 MLB Draft reported to the Nationals’ spring training complex in West Palm Beach in July, shortly after agreeing to a $5 million signing bonus with his new club. He made his professional debut in the Florida Complex League this week and didn’t wait long to start stuffing the stat sheet.

House has gone 5-for-9 (.556) with two home runs and a pair of walks over his first three games of rookie ball, including a grand slam against the FCL Mets on Tuesday.
The 18-year-old has started all three games at shortstop, a position he lobbied to show he can handle on draft day. Listed at 6-foot-4, 215 pounds, House would be among the biggest shortstops in the majors if he suited up for the Nationals.
Outfielder Daylen Lile, who the Nationals drafted in the second round at 47th overall, has also impressed early. He’s managed to record a hit in each of his first four games while going 1-for-2 in stolen base attempts. Lile has yet to appear in the field, starting all four of his contests as the FCL Nationals’ designated hitter.
