Nationals Activate Juan Soto, Will Harris Off Injured List

Nats activate Juan Soto, Will Harris off injured list originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

The Nationals got a bit of good news Tuesday before kicking off a big NL East clash with the Braves.

Washington activated superstar outfielder Juan Soto and reliever Will Harris off the injured list. Soto had missed the last 10 games with a left shoulder strain, but will be available to pinch-hit Tuesday night against Atlanta. Harris is also available to pitch.

The Nats have done well to stay in the mix in the division without their best player. When Soto went down, Washington was 6-9 but has gone 6-3 in his absence to move into first place. Now with Soto back, the Nats can begin to build some distance between them and the Braves, Mets, Phillies and Marlins.

Before he went down, Soto appeared to be building on a strong 2020 campaign. He was slashing .300/.410/.460 with an .870 OPS to go along with two homers and eight RBI.

In order to activate Soto and Harris, the Nationals designated Hernán Pérez for assignment and sent Kyle McGowin to Triple-A.
