One of Maryland's outgoing transfers has settled on a new destination.

Former Terps big man Chol Marial announced Wednesday that he would be headed to Oregon State to continue his college career.

Early in his high school career, Marial was considered one of the top recruits in the country. Unfortunately, he suffered numerous lower body injuries and was never able to stay fully healthy, stunting his on-court development.

Maryland's basketball training staff has a strong reputation, and head coach Mark Turgeon has developed multiple big men over the years so College Park seemed like a perfect fit for Marial. It didn't end up working out, with the big man failing to see much playing time even as the Terps were desperate for a post presence.

Marial has a strong reputation for being an excellent teammate with a terrific attitude, but sometimes it just doesn't work out. Now, he's heading back west to play for one of this year's NCAA Tournament darlings in the Oregon State Beavers.
