Maryland Football Announced Multiple Offensive Hires, Including New Coordinator

Maryland announced multiple coaching hires, including new OC originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

The Maryland Terrapins football team enjoyed a relatively successful 2020 season - all things considered - but head coach Mike Locksley still opted to make some changes on his coaching staff heading into the new year and beyond.

It was reported last week that Locksley would be moving on from offensive coordinator Scottie Montgomery and offensive line coach John Reagan. Coming in to replace them are Dan Enos (offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach) and Brian Braswell (offensive line) in addition to the promotion of defensive line coach Brian Williams to co-defensive coordinator.

Enos was considered a top candidate for the Terps' offensive coordinator role when Locksley was first hired a couple of years ago. Enos was the quarterbacks coach at Alabama while Locksley was the offensive coordinator and it was speculated that he would be following the latter to Maryland.

That didn't happen right away, but after a few stops at Miami and Cincinnati, Enos is finally in College Park.

"Dan has a tremendous track record as one of the top quarterback developers in the country," Locksley said in a statement released by the program announcing the hires. "He played a significant role in the growth of Brandon and Austin Allen at Arkansas, and Jalen Hurts, Tua Tagovailoa and Mac Jones at Alabama. We worked together seamlessly on the same staff in 2018 and because of Dan's familiarity with our system, I expect a smooth transition as we continue to develop the talent on our roster and take the next steps as a program."

Braswell is also considered a strong addition, coming to the Terps with five years of NFL experience. Meanwhile, Williams is considered an up-and-coming coaching star and is perhaps the top recruiter on the staff outside of Locksley himself.
