Legend of Terry McLaurin Grows With D.K. Metcalf Impression Saving a TD

Legend of McLaurin grows with D.K. Metcalf impression saving a TD originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Terry McLaurin might be best known for scoring touchdowns, but in Dallas, he stopped an important one from happening.

With Washington leading 20-13 and moving the ball downfield, Alex Smith threw a bad interception to Cowboys linebacker Jaylon Smith. It looked like Smith would run the ball all the way back for a Pick-6, but then McLaurin showed up out of nowhere to take him down.

After making the TD-saving tackle, the Washington defense knuckled up for a goal-line stand and held Dallas to a field goal. That kept Washington in the lead.

It's reminiscent of Seattle's D.K. Metcalf running down Arizona's Budda Baker and saving a touchdown from last month. Or more specific to Washington fans, Darrell Green running down Tony Dorsett back in the 1980s.

McLaurin is a star for what he does on the field, but his coaches and teammates love him for his work ethic and hustle. This tackle is just another example.
