Kevin Durant Loves Shohei Ohtani So Much He'd Trade Trea Turner for Him

KD loves Ohtani so much he'd maybe trade Trea Turner for him originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Like most baseball fans, Nets superstar Kevin Durant was in awe of Angels two-way player Shohei Ohtani Tuesday night.

After Ohtani threw seven innings against the Astros, striking out 10 batters while only giving up one earned run, he remained in the game even after his start concluded. The Angels wanted to keep his bat in the lineup, so they moved him out to right field.

Durant was so impressed with the display from Ohtani, he publicly contemplated trading Nationals shortstop Trea Turner for him in MLB The Show.

The PG County native is a well-known Nats fan, so he's most likely aware of the value Turner brings on the field.

But it's all a video game, so no harm done, although Turner saw Durant's tweet and sent out a funny response.

Turner is off to a great start in 2021 after a more than promising shortened campaign last season. He entered Thursday slashing .318/.360/.543 with eight home runs and a league-leading seven stolen bases.

We can all joke about fake trades all day long, but the chances of the Angels and Nationals trading either player has to be slim to none at this point.
